Research Use FAQ
Common questions about peptides, our Certificates of Analysis, research-use compliance and ordering policies. This page is informational only and is not medical advice.
Peptide Basics
- What is a peptide?
- A peptide is a short chain of amino acids joined by peptide bonds — the same building blocks that make up proteins. The difference is length: peptides are typically under about 50 amino acids, while proteins are much longer chains that fold into complex structures. Because amino acids are the units all living tissue is built from, peptides occur naturally in the body and in foods, and laboratory-made peptides let researchers study how specific amino-acid sequences behave in a controlled sample. Our products are synthetic peptides supplied as dry powder in a sealed vial, characterised by an independent laboratory, and sold strictly as reference materials for in-vitro research — they are not drugs, foods, supplements or cosmetics.
- How is a peptide different from a protein?
- Chemically they are the same kind of molecule — both are chains of amino acids. The distinction is size and structure: a peptide is a short chain (roughly 2 to 50 amino acids) and usually stays relatively simple, while a protein is a long chain that folds into a defined three-dimensional shape. There is no exact cut-off, so the terms overlap; peptides are sometimes called polypeptides when the chain is longer.
- Why are peptides used in laboratory research?
- Because a peptide's behaviour follows from its sequence, researchers use them as targeted tools: to probe a specific pathway in cell culture, as analytical standards for calibrating instruments, or as reference samples when developing and validating testing methods. That is the purpose Power Logic supplies them for, and any question about applications beyond in-vitro laboratory analysis is outside what we answer.
COA & Testing
- What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
- A COA is a laboratory document showing the analytical results for one specific batch (lot) of a product: its identity, purity and the date it was tested. Each Power Logic lot is tested by an accredited third-party laboratory before it is released.
- How do I match my vial to its COA?
- Find the lot number printed on your vial and send it to us from the Contact page. We reply by email with that lot's report — its purity, identity result and test date, plus the full PDF.
- What does the purity percentage mean?
- Purity on our COAs is measured by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and reports the percentage of the chromatogram area corresponding to the target peptide. Identity is confirmed separately by mass spectrometry (MS).
- Where can I download the full PDF report?
- Send us the lot number printed on your vial from the Contact page and we'll email you the complete lot-specific PDF report.
Compliance & Research Use
- Why does every page say 'Research Use Only'?
- All Power Logic products are sold strictly for in-vitro laboratory research by qualified professionals. They are not drugs, foods, supplements or cosmetics, are not for human or animal consumption, and have not been evaluated by the FDA.
- Can you tell me how to use a product, or what dose to take?
- No. We never provide medical, dosing, administration or usage guidance of any kind. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and our staff and assistants will decline those questions. Products are for laboratory research only.
- Why is there an age restriction?
- Purchasers must be 21 or older. Age is confirmed on first visit and again at checkout, and orders may be refused if there is reason to believe products will be misused.
- Is this FDA approved?
- No. No product sold here is approved by the FDA for any purpose. All claims-free information on this site is educational and describes published laboratory research only.
Ordering & Policies
- Who can place an order?
- Qualified professionals 21 or older purchasing strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. Every checkout requires agreeing to the research-use terms.
- What is your shipping policy?
- Orders over $150 ship free in the US; otherwise shipping is $15. Damaged shipments are replaced if reported within 3 days of delivery.
- Can I return an opened vial?
- No. Due to the nature of research materials, opened vials cannot be returned. Unopened, undamaged items may be returned under the terms shown at checkout.
- Can you send me the report for a specific lot?
- Yes — send the lot number printed on your vial from the Contact page and we'll email you that lot's report. We never provide dosing, usage or medical guidance.
- How do I ask about a specific COA, a price or a shipment?
- Use the Contact page. Choose the topic, include the lot number printed on your vial if your question is about a report, and we reply by email. We never provide medical, dosing or usage guidance.
- How do I get told when new lab reports or restocks are posted?
- Use the Subscribe page in the top menu. Enter your email, tick the topics you care about — new COAs, restocks, bulk pricing, policy changes — and confirm you are 21 or older. We record your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time from the unsubscribe page.
